Finding the Right Size
Let's find the correct helmet size for you!
Keep in mind helmet sizes and hat sizes vary widely by manufacture. Measuring your head is a starting point for trying to determine your helmet size. However this is not the only factor. Due to varying shaped heads, individual body types, individual physical skull differences and individual preferences, measuring your head with a tape measure can result with 2 individuals with similar measurements needing different sized helmets. Don't despair we can help. Please read on!
To get the most accurate measurement you will need a tailor's tape measure to measure your head, We suggest someone assist you when trying to measure your head. To achieve an accurate measurement of your head, place the bottom of the measuring tape approximately 1/2 above the eyebrows in front and at a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement. Take several measurements to make sure you have an accurate measurement.
Keep in mind the shape of your head (oval vs round) of your head is as important as the measurement. Note: we have found the following size chart is accurate for individuals with a more oval shaped head than round and for individuals who don't carry a lot of weight for their height.
When ordering please use the size chart as a guide. You may want to go up a size for a variety of reasons such as you prefer a loose fit, you ride with a hat under your helmet, you carry a lot of weight for your height, you have a more round head shape than oval head shape, you have a large neck for your size or you have an unusual shape of your head. Etc.
For example, If you are ordering a slim line - half helmet - cruiser style helmet which needs a snugger fit to stay in place on your head, you may want to consider ordering a smaller helmet if you are between sizes.
